LRIGS was honoured with the 2013 Canadian Land Reclamation Association’s Edward M Watkin Award for significant contributions to land reclamation through service to foster advances in regulation, reclamation success and development of personnel and students. In 2019 LRIGS received an Alberta Emerald Award - Post Secondary Education for raising the bar by showing leadership and creativity in educating students of all ages about environmental matters.
